The Rundown: Annalise learns more about her past as she spends some tense time with her mother.

As the Vitruvian is dying, he decides to use one of his robots to transfer his mind into. When another one arrives, it decides to take over the process. As Annalise lies in a coma, the robot and her mother discuss the events that brought them back together as she decides to stop torturing the machine. At the same time, Rook is still on the hunt for the machine and will use whatever resources he can to procure it.

When the robot decides to hand himself over to Rook, Annalise wakes up and spends time with her mother learning about her parent’s relationship as well as the world she has been dropped into. After making a discovery that could change everything, Annalise decides to strike out on her own to recover her robot from the men who have him.

The Story: Rosenberg creates a dynamic, entertaining and interesting story in this issue. I love the care it takes in telling a more personal story for both Annalise and her parents as events continue to unfold around them. I continue to enjoy the mystery of Project Starfish and how elements of it are teased in the issue. I enjoyed the interpersonal moments between Annalise and her mother and the story moves from those great moments to an awesome cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Landini delivers some beautiful visuals throughout the issue. I love the art style of this series and how it captures the tone of the story.
